Lesson 17
The Job Interview
Dumbbell, SOP, mentor, and weight scale!
Two weeks ago, on a sunny morning, I suited up and practiced my smiles in the mirror to prepare for my first corporate interview as a job seeker!
Upon stepping into the lobby, I was greeted by a friendly receptionist. Trying to stay calm, I faced the interviewer, who reviewed my resume and asked three challenging questions. Surprisingly, I remained cooler than expected.
Question 1: “How do you maintain effective performance under pressure?”
I answered, “Pressure isn’t the enemy; it’s like gym dumbbells! The right weight unlocks my potential!” The interviewer smiled at my response.
Question 2: “How do we compensate for the lack of field experience?”
I replied, “I have a strong capacity for learning and a sense of accountability. If work is a game, I’m the player studying guides while leveling up! I’ll check SOPs, consult mentors, run simulations, and iterate for tasks until I succeed.”
Question 3: “What are your expected earnings?”
I responded, “I hope my salary matches my weight scale number—with at least 5% birthday raises! Year-end bonuses should get my friends to spam emojis!”
Today, my inbox holds an offer and a handwritten welcome card. Following Monday, I’m excited to leap into my next chapter!
